Sharon Lee Kennedy Busch, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 14th, 2024, after a brief illness.
Sharon K. Busch was born into this beautiful world on March 1, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio at the end of WWII. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Craig Kennedy, and Bonnie Jean Williams. She is survived by her loving older brother Wallace Craig Jr., (Skip) of Chesapeake, Virginia. Her loving daughter Shannon (Jerome) Lujan and loving son Dallas (Jamie) Busch; granddaughters, Kylea Lujan, Alycia Lujan, and Cherokee Lennox; along with her great grandson Bastion Lennox, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and her loving nephew David Kennedy of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Sharon grew up in Norfolk, Virginia where her dad was stationed while serving in the United States Navy. She was inspired to receive a higher education at Old Domain in Norfolk, Virginia where she earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from the University of William and Mary located in Williams-Burg, Virginia. Sharon then moved with her family to La Mesilla, New Mexico in 1985 to begin her career in education, and raise her family that she loved so much. She taught at Holy Cross in Espanola and retired from the Espanola School system in 2017, after 32 years of dedicated service. Sharon’s pride and joy were her children, not only her biological children but all her students and children around her. She used to drive a station wagon formerly known as the “La Mesilla Bus” and would pick up children who needed a ride to school. Not only did she teach at Holy Cross, but she was their chess coach and was also the coach for the Espanola drill team. Sharon always found beauty in everything and everyone. She always made friends everywhere she went and would always light up the room. She loved spending time outdoors where she would bird watch, search for beautiful rocks to make into jewelry, and even sailing in her younger years. She would always lend a helping hand and did so until she could no longer do so. Sharon also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and watching some of her favorite shows but just spending time with her family and friends made her the happiest. One of Sharon’s sayings was always, no stress be happy, life is too short. Sharon had a beautiful spiritual life with our Lord and is now resting in peace in the arms of Jesus.
We would like to give a special thanks to Brookdale where she lived for many years prior to moving to Night N Gale home health care, facilitated by Kathleen Franklin, where she received excellent care
