Shipp, Sharon Lee Sharon Lee Shipp (nee Gaunt), born September 18, 1939 in Fort Wayne, IN, died peacefully on February 22, 2012. She is survived by her children, daughter, Donna Fowler and husband, Billy of Albuquerque; son, John Shipp and wife, Teresa of Santa Ana, CA; and daughter, Anita Duffey and husband, Charlie of Albuquerque. Sharon will be missed by her grandchildren, Chris Fowler and wife, Maria, Joshua Fowler and wife, Malea, Taya Herrera and husband, Jesse, Marcus Duffey, Elia Fowler, Iain Shipp, Marshall Duffey and Carson Duffey; and great-grandchildren, McKenzie Fowler, Carter Fowler, Madison Herrera, Asher Herrera, Katie Fowler and Cannon Herrera. Sharon is also survived by her sister, Cynthia Hanna of Albuquerque, sister, Marsha Verploegh and John Farmer of Tijeras, brother, David Gaunt of Tijeras, and sister, Debbie Carroll and husband Mark of Tijeras and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Shipp, her mother, Ruth Gaunt and her father, David A. Gaunt. In her seventy two years, Sharon''s life made ripples of impact in a beautiful, truthful and encouraging way for generations of family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers. An Albuquerquean for nearly six decades, Sharon contributed immensely to the life of this city with her creative, spiritual, civic and volunteer energies. A graduate of Highland High School in 1957, Sharon married Jim Shipp of Artesia NM in 1958, and they raised their family together in New Mexico and Texas. In early life, Sharon worked in her parents'' Heights Nurseries, and went on to a long, productive career as an administrator, secretary and business co-owner. An avid reader, poet and wordsmith, Sharon also made her contribution to Albuquerque''s educational community as a secretarial worker with APS for over a dozen years. Among her volunteer activities, Sharon delivered for Meals on Wheels and led a high school youth group with her husband at Monte Vista Christian Church. Born into a musical family, Sharon spent her life singing a beautiful alto in 3-and-4 part harmony with her parents and siblings, her high school friends, and her husband and children. Loved ones young and old already miss times at the table with Sharon, playing games with her and sharing laughter, love and memories. A disciple of Jesus Christ to the core of her life, Sharon was joyful in worship, faithful in prayer, unselfish in service; patient and kind; warm, loving and giving to the very last. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 1, at Calvary of Albuquerque (4001 Osuna Rd NE, 87109). Cremation has taken place.
