Sheree LeAnn Meinecke

December 4, 1954 — September 26, 2023

Corrales, NM

Sheree LeAnn Meinecke was born in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, December 04, 1954, at 4:44 am. She grew up and attended elementary and high school in Olton, Texas. She completed high school in three years and then married her first husband, Mickey Crowder. She was hired by TWA in May of 1975 as a flight attendant. She was the youngest flight attendant to be hired by TWA due to her honesty when being interviewed. She later went to work for American Airlines when they acquired TWA.  She loved to travel with family and friends, especially in the Caribbean.

Sheree passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and her four dogs. She was in her favorite chair with the view of her beautiful Sandia “Pink” Mountain.

Sheree got her first hot air balloon ride on Sept 1, 1980, where she met her future husband, Robert (Bobby) Rogers for the first time. She and her husband, both avid balloonists and pilots, never missed a fiesta, very appropriate that it is starting this week, it was one of Sheree’s favorite times of the year.

Sheree is survived by her husband, Robert Rogers, her mother, Pat Johnson - both of Corrales, NM, her sister, Jackye Meinecke of Las Cruces, NM, and her kids, son-Rob Rogers of Mobile, AL, daughter- Ronda Rogers of Albuquerque, NM and her daughter and son-in-law Lori and Jono Duggan of Albuquerque, NM.

Sheree is preceded in death by her father, Robert Meinecke, her sister Mitzi Rhodes, her niece Michelle, her grandmother Lucille Irwin (Hatley) and her beloved friend James Montgomery.

Please celebrate her life when you see a balloon fly over.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Sheree’s memory for either the St. Jude Children's Hospital or PAWS.
