Age 87, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018. She was born in Harris, MO on September 29, 1930, to Howard and Hildred Cheuvront.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley is survived by husband, Robert Ericson of Placitas, NM; son, Robert Tod Ericson of Abington, Maryland; daughters, Christine Ericson Holtman of Hillard, OH and Leslie Ericson Alti of Placitas, NM; brother, Ronald (Sue) Cheuvront of Phoenix, AZ; sister in law, Jeane (Orville) Marlett of Newport Beach, CA; grandchildren, Elisabeth and Jonathan Holtman; great grandchild, Landon Allgood.

Shirley attended Arizona State University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Education at Washington State University. She was married to Robert Ericson in Scottsdale, AZ. on December 18, 1950. They were married for 67 years. Shirley worked for the Richland School District for 16 years, and then for the University of Central Florida for 11 years. She belonged to the Jardineros de Placitas, Libro sin Nombre Book Club, and served as the Publicity Chair for the Placitas Library, Garden Tour, and Placitas Artists Series.  She also served on the Brevard Symphony Orchestra Board.

Service will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018 - at 10:00 AM, Las Placitas Presbyterian Church, Placitas, NM.

"The high notes of my life are that I have loved and been loved. All the rest is background music".
