Siegfried Gilbert Montano, Jr

Siegfried (“Sieg,” and affectionately known as “Sonny, Dad, Grandpa, and Papa”) G. Montano, Jr., born July 22,1942, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024.

He is predeceased by his parents, Siegfried G. Montano, Sr. and Stella Rodriguez Montano, of Gallup, NM. He is survived by his brother, Albert J. Montano (Rita Galowich), of Highland Park, IL; sister Lillian Worthen (Delbert Worthen) of Gallup, NM; his three children, son Brian J. Montano; son Trenton “Trent” W. Montano (Trishelle Montano); and daughter Leslie M.Thompson (Jeffrey J. Thompson); and his five beloved grandchildren, all of Albuquerque, NM. 

Sieg was a Centennial Distinguished Alumni of the College of Business Administration and Economics at New Mexico State University (1968). He was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and owner of CPA firm, Montano & Associates, in Albuquerque for fifty (50) years, licensed in Texas (1970); New Mexico (1974); and California (1999). Sieg was a horseman, a hot rod aficionado, an amazing friend, and devoted father and grandfather.

Rosary Service will be held at Daniels at 7601 Wyoming Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109, on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 6:00pm; Funeral Mass at Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106 on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 12:00 pm; and burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106 at 1:30 pm.
