Simon Andazola

October 26, 1922 — November 22, 2015

Beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Simon Andazola, has suddenly left us to join his Heavenly Father. His 93 years of life were full of love, friendship, generosity, and hard work. He had a great sense of humor, always cracking jokes and giving good advice. Born October 26,1922 in the coal mining town of Dawson, New Mexico, the 9th of ten children, the first of his family to homestead in Albuquerque, he went from coal miner, to serving in WWII, owning his own bar, and worked for Kirtland Contract Management Division, to being the patriarch of a large, loving family. He was full of laughter, loved gardening, growing the best squash, carrots and cucumbers. He the most interesting rock collection and told great stories.

He is survived by his daughters, Christine and Roger Goode, Anita Andazola, Joanna Andazola, Angela Andazola, Lillian and Tres Featherstone, Loretta and Rick Paiz, Connie Celeste and Kel Orbinati, sister, Mary McDaniel. Grandchildren, Edward P. Snyder II, Brendan M. Snyder, Ana Andazola-Ramsey, Geena Long, John T. Huggard IV, Megan Huggard, Nicholas Featherstone, Elissa Featherstone, Timothy Andazola, Jennifer Carbajal, Anthony Orbinati, Nicolas Orbinati, Joshua Orbinati, Kyle Orbinati; and great-grandchildren, Cayden Snyder, Scarlett Snyder, Brendan Patrick Snyder, Evelyn Snyder, Celina Jagroop, Zia Marie Jagroop, Carlos Contreras-Gallegos, Joseph Contreras-Gallegos, Simmone Andazola, Mateo Andazola, Lorenzo Carbajal, Adelina Carbajal and Ember Long McChesney, and many beloved nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death recently by the love of his life, Martha P. Andazola, his sister Bea, and grandson Thomas J. Contreras.

A visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Thursday, December 3, 2015,  at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl NE Albuquerque, with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.                              
    
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church.  Interment will follow the mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE, followed by a reception held at Cross of Hope Church, 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd. Albuquerque.
