Simon I. Barela

Barela, Simon I. was called home on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Simon was preceded in death by his Dad Demetrio Barela, grandparents Simon and Nettie Barela, Ignacio and Mela Ramirez and nephew Joe Ben Barela. Simon is survived by his Mom, Esther R. Barela; brother, Demetrio Barela; sisters, Mela and husband, John Livramento, Gerrie and husband, Adrian Maes, Becky and husband, Victor Carrillo and Sandy B. Garcia; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Simon was a caregiver for grandpa Simon for many years. Simon attended East San Jose Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1973. Simon will be remembered as a very friendly and loving person and will be missed by all who knew him. Go in peace. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 8:15 a.m. at St. Joseph's on the Rio Grande Church with a Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Monsignor Lambert Luna will be presiding over the services.
