Soon Hi (Judy) Ortiz

Soon Hi (Judy) Ortiz, 83, died peacefully in her home with her family August 2, 2022 in Albuquerque, NM.
She was born in Korea in 1939 and moved to NM in 1967. She received her naturalization in 1969 and resided in Albuquerque for over 50 years. She was a “mother” to many new cadets at Kirtland Air Force Base where she worked for Air Force Services until her retirement. She was fiercely independent, and proud of the driver's license she renewed weeks before her passing. She continued to be an active member in her community and could be found socializing at her local community center on any given day. Judy loved people and always found a way to connect with those around her. Her last days were filled with love, pizza, chocolate dipped strawberries, and fried shrimp.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Ortiz and parents, Bong Keun and Ok Son.
A Visitation will be held on August 15, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque NM. Interment to follow at 1:30 PM at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd SE, Albuquerque NM.
