Sotera A. Maldonado

Sotera A. Maldonado, 73, of Flora Vista, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010. She was born March 1, 1937 in Ojo de la Cueva, New Mexico, to Fidel and Celsa Espinoza. Sotera is survived by her husband Clovis Maldonado Sr., of 53 years. Her daughters, Linda Rascon (John) of Flora Vista, NM., Rebecca Maldonado (Eric) of Farmington, NM., Ruth Velasquez (Gabriel) of Farmington, NM and Rosalie Valdez (Larry) of Espanola, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fidel and Celsa; son Clovis Maldonado Jr.; brothers, Joe Vallejos, Dave Flores, Richard Espinoza, Felix Espinoza and Mario Vallejos. Sotera graduated in 1956 from the Latin America Bible Institute in El Paso, TX; with a degree in Theology. Using her education she worked closely with her husband, Clovis, doing many good works of Ministry. Sotera was also a long time teacher’s aid for the Farmington School District. She loved music; in particular the piano and singing, was an avid cook, enjoyed bright colors and never knew a stranger.
