Stacy Lianne White was born on September 3, 1963, to Fred and Patricia White, and passed away on January 14, 2021. She spent her first decade traveling where her dad’s work took her, including over 2 years in Panama. In 1972, the family moved to New Mexico where she spent the rest of her life.
Stacy grew up in Corrales and attended Cibola High School where she was a member of the FFA horse judging team. After her graduation, Stacy studied at TVI and began her career in the business world. She was a longtime employee of the Gas Company of New Mexico until she was forced to retire due to illness. On April 16, 1994, Stacy married Robert Davis. They had many good times together. They went camping and fishing on their first anniversary and he accompanied her to horse shows – even when the emergency brake on the horse trailer went off in the middle of morning rush hour traffic.
Anyone who knew Stacy was aware that her passion was horses. She competed successfully in Quarter Horse events, including the World Championship Show. When her time in competition ended due to illness, she still treated her horses so well that her veterinarian said that when he died “he wanted to come back as one of Stacy’s horses.”
Stacy’s love of animals was unlimited. She rescued everything from birds fallen to nests to rabbits, kittens, and stray dogs. She also owned show dogs and competed with them in dog shows. At the time of her death, she and her husband were the owners of two cats and two French Bulldogs.
Throughout most of her life, Stacy courageously fought diabetes and its many side effects. That and other diseases took their toll, but she refused to let them stop her for she was a determined, strong, and loving woman. Her dad said she was “the toughest person he had ever met.” With the constant help of her husband, she faced every challenge.
Stacy is survived by her husband, Robert Davis; her mother, Patricia White; and three brothers and their wives: Bret and wife Emily, Scott and wife Cathy Jo, and Mark and wife Jamilyn, as well as four nieces and two nephews and two grandnieces and a grand nephew.
After a small funeral service, Stacy will be interred at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
