Stella Salgado Valenzuela, 78, of Albuquerque, NM, died at 6:06A Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was born May 11, 1940, in Pecos, Texas to Jose Salgado and Augustina Lozano Salgado.
She is survived by her husband, Ricardo (Dick) Valenzuela and her 6 children; Victor Valenzuela, Felicia Valenzuela Springer, Michael Valenzuela, Mark Valenzuela, Marisa Valenzuela Sagil and Ricardo Valenzuela. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren; Jessica Valenzuela, Eric Valenzuela, Christopher Valenzuela, Alex Valenzuela, Carson Springer, Willow Springer, Ava Springer, Matthew Sagil, Jacob Sagil, Nathaniel Valenzuela, Mason Valenzuela, Bella Valenzuela, Vince Valenzuela and preceded in death by Jada Sagil. We can’t leave out her other “sons” and “daughters”, her daughter-in-laws and son-in-laws; Susana Valenzuela, Craig Springer, Tisha Valenzuela, Danita Valenzuela and Jason Sagil.
Stella was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was a woman of boundless energy and had a strong sense of commitment to her family. Her favorite days were days when family was together. She had a strong affinity for shopping, dancing and desserts. She could light up a room with her smile. She loved the finer things in life but usually settled for the simple life.
She was employed for more than 30 years by Deming Public Schools, Las Cruces Public Schools, Capitan Public Schools and Albuquerque Public Schools. She was widely respected by her peers for her accuracy, honesty and professionalism. She was known as “the fastest fingers” in the West.
In her latter years, her loves and hobbies revolved around her grandchildren. In the words of her children, “she was the queen of spoiling!” There wasn’t a toy, gift, hug, kiss or of course candy her grandkids would be without.
She was loyal to her beliefs, morals and ethics. These traits she instilled in her children and were the backbone of her ideals. Most Importantly, Stella was a loving and loyal wife. She consistently demonstrated undivided and unwavering support to her husband. Their 54+ years of marriage are a testament to her commitment to her family.
She forever had a lasting effect on those she touched. She will be eternally missed. From her family to their wife and mother; “Thanks for the memories and the life lessons. We’ll miss you! Here’s to Life momma!”
