A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away after a long fight with Alzheimer’s January 8, 2014 at age 73. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda J. Ross; his sons, Lance Ross and his wife, Elaine; Shane Ross and his wife, Jammie; four grandchildren, Shilah Ross; Lance Ross J.R. and wife, Daniela; Kassidy Ross; and McKenzie Ross; one great grandchild, Matthew Stephen Ross; his sister, Carol Haney and husband Elmo; and his brother, John Ross and wife, Pam. Stephen is preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Clyde and Harriet Mae Ross; Sister ,Dorothy Anderson; and brother and sister in law, Arnold and Beverly Ross. He was a Navy Seal Veteran. He retired from Sandia National Labs and was a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge, a member of the American Legion post 44 at Elephant Butte, the Albuquerque Civitan Club, the Albuquerque Boat Club and a past comadore. He was involved with Thunderbird Little League for 13 years. Per Stephen’s wishes cremation has taken place. His family will host a celebration of his life potluck at the American Legion post 44 of Elephant Butte N.M. on March 7, 2015 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions and donations may be given in Stephen 's honor to American Legion Post 44, PO Box 1073 Elephant Butte, N.M. 87935 .
