Stephen Miles Springer II

Stephen Miles Springer II, age 37, of Albuquerque, NM, slipped away peacefully into heaven after a valiant battle with glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer on Tuesday, August 29th 2017.
He is survived by his mother, Alice D. Springer; his brother Jason L. Springer and sister-in-law Regina Springer, niece and nephews Kaitlyn, Preston, and Landon Springer; his sister Mary Jane Wyckoff and brother-in-law Kevin Wyckoff, nephews Jett and Austin Wyckoff; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his most-beloved Dachshunds Annabelle and Rodney.  Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Stephen M. Springer.
Stephen attended Osuna Elementary School, Madison Middle School, and graduated from La Cueva High School in the class of 1998.  He attended CNM, and then transferred to Texas Tech University where he graduated with honors, Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology.  He began his career with two years at TriCore Laboratories, then joined DNAe Medical Research Laboratory and enjoyed his work and colleagues for the remainder of his career.  Stephen’s family wishes to extend our unending gratitude for all the love and support that Stephen received from DNAe during his illness.
Stephen was a gentle and kind-hearted person, soft-spoken and often very humorous when least expected. He cared deeply about those around him, ready to help in any way he could.  He was dearly loved by his family and friends, especially his niece and nephews who adored “Uncle Stevie” because he always made it a point to spend time with them – taking them on fun outings in his cool cars and always giving thoughtful gifts for their birthdays and Christmas.  Stephen touched so many lives and our hearts are broken that he has passed away, but we are filled with joy knowing that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ today.  Farewell for now, sweet Stephen.
Stephen’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to his wonderful nurses Lisa, Nancy, Andrea, and Clerice; his homecare aide Monica from Kindred Hospice;  Irene and Manny from Home Care Assistance;  Also, home aide Yvette Gonzales.
Stephen will be laid to rest in a private interment ceremony at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
