Steve Garcia

Steve Garcia, age 72, passed away Monday, November 5, 2024 in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.  He was born December 21, 1951 to Filiberto Garcia and Eufelia Chavez Garcia, in McNary, Arizona.  After graduating high school, he proudly served our nation in the United States Army during the VietNam war.  After serving 4 years in the military, he then went on to serve as a University of New Mexico police officer for 30 years, retiring in 2009.  Steve enjoyed watching bible stories, dancing, playing slot machines at the casinos, and spending precious time with his family, especially his nieces, Jamie and Victoria.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Garcia; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and David Taylor; stepdaughter, Laura Padilla; granddaughter, Bonnie Taylor; nieces, Jamie and Victoria; and his special pet dogs, Rudy and (Freddie - deceased).

Services will be held Friday, November 22, 2024, 2:00 PM, Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Interment will follow at 3:00 PM, Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
