Steven Marx Rogers, 66, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. He was born May 4, 1949 in Rupert, Idaho to Clyde Harvey Rogers and Carole Elvira Rasmussen. Steve married Linda Diane Stewart on Sept. 4, 1970 and is survived by his wife and four children, Christopher Scott Rogers, Jamie Diane Rogers Boe (Jon), Kellie Ann Rogers Whittlinger (William), Benjamin Scott Rogers (Julie), a sister Jana Darrington (Tim), and 4 brothers, Barry Rogers, Joel Rogers (Geri) , Bradley Rogers (Debbie), and Kevin Rogers. He had 14 grandchildren, Mariah Beck (Justin), Andrew Rogers, Cheyenne Boe, Brandon Boe, Tyler Boe, Michael Boe, Charlie Whittlinger, Ryan Whittlinger, Trevor Whittlinger, Emily Rogers, Katie Rogers, Benji Rogers, Lacie Rogers, Ashlie Rogers, and 1 great grandson, Orion Beck. He was preceded in death by his son James Marcus Rogers and his parents.

The Memorial Service will be held at the Rio Rancho Elks Lodge at 6 pm on Thursday, June 4th. The address is 1530 Barbara Loop across from Intel.

Steve was born and raised in Minidoka County in Idaho. His father was a farmer on land that he homesteaded. He graduated from Minico High School in 1967. He graduated from Idaho State University majoring in Accounting in 1971. Steve was married to Linda for 44 years and had a wonderful, close-knit family. He moved his family to Rio Rancho in 1980 where they lived in the same house for 34 years. He enjoyed his work in doing people's income taxes and accounting.

Steve and Linda were members of the Rio Rancho Elks Lodge. Steve was currently serving as Lodge Treasurer and was helping other Lodges in the north part of the state with their accounting and reports. He was the Lodge chairman for the Elks state charity which was Cerebral Palsy.  In the past few years, he distributed almost $50,000 worth of items to Cerebral Palsy patients, usually children. Although Steven donated to many charities in his life. the Primary Children's Hospital and the Boy Scouts to name a few, he had adopted the Shining Stars Pre-school as his personal charity, donating funds to the  Thanksgiving Dinner for the past ten years so that the children's families could spend more time together, giving hams at Christmas to needy families, and donating bicycles as incentives for their reading programs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shining Stars Pre-school in his name.
