Steven James Wells, 59, of Farmington died Monday, August 9, 2010 at his home. He was born June 29, 1951 in Denver, Colorado the son of Warren George Wells and Loretta Fern (Kellicut) Wells. He attended Clear Creek County School in Idaho Springs, Colorado and graduated in 1969. Steve then attended Red Rock Community College and Denver Tech. He served our country in the US Marine Corps for 4 years. He later met and married his sweetheart Kimberly Sue Jesson in Farmington in 1997. Steve was employed as a diesel mechanic for Dugan Production for almost 10 years. He was a mason for 30 years and also was a member of the Elk’s #607 Idaho Springs Lodge for 35 years. Steve was a man of faith. He was a very loving husband and father. Steve enjoyed many things in life including bowling, fishing, and riding his Harley. Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and lived and loved life to the fullest. Steve surrounded by his beautiful wife Kim, loving family and close friends when he passed. He will be deeply missed and remembered by many, including his dog Hanna. Steve is survived by his wife Kim (Jesson) Wells, son Steve Wells, Jr. and wife Linda, James Wells, Brandon Wells, Jason Wells and wife Paige and Tyler Wells of the family home; daughters Kristine and husband Ricky and Tonya; Steve’s parents WG Wells of Kentucky; brother George Wells and wife Robin; grandchildren Zachary, Shana, Nathan and Gavin and many dear friends. Cremation will take place and memorial services will be Monday, August 16, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Pinon Hills Community Church, 2400 N. Butler Ave. in Farmington with Pastors Tim Hargrove and Keith Corley conducting. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #2182 of Farmington. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service, all are invited to come and share a story about Steve.
