Stuart Thomson Findley, of Corrales, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, after a long illness. In his last hours he was surrounded and comforted by his family.
Stuart is survived by his parents, Tommie and Jim Findley of Corrales, his sisters Heidi Eleftheriou and her husband Stavros of Corrales, his brother Douglas Findley, and his wife Susanna of Ajijic, Mexico, Joan Findley-Perls and husband Bob of Corrales, by eight nieces and nephews, eleven great nieces and nephews, and by Gert and Nigel, his beloved dogs.
Stuart was sixty-five years old. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and has been a resident of Corrales since 1961. His interests were varied, ranging from agriculture to construction, automobile and motorcycle mechanics, and aviation. He has been a licensed aviator for many years, and, until his retirement a few months ago, has pursued a career as a commercial airline pilot, a job that took him to most parts of the world. In recent years Stuart has been an enthusiastic participant in the Corrales Growers Market.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Village Pizza in Corrales, on Thursday, May 7, from 4 to 8:30 PM.
