"Susa" Andrea Jesucita (Santillanes) Romero

Romero, Andrea Jesucita (Susa)  
80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 with her loving family at her side. She was born in Lemitar, NM on June 3, 1934 to  Ricardo and Andrellita (Gonzales) Santillanes. Susa was a lifelong resident of Lemitar. She ran a daycare from her home for over 50 years. She loved children. Even in her later years, every baby or small child that she would see would  capture her heart. Susa enjoyed crocheting, her yard work, and cooking especially during the holidays. She was devoted to her faith and found great peace praying to her Lord and also St. Jude. More than anything, Susa loved and adored all of her family and was always taking care of them. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Justiniano Santillanes; sisters, Margarita Santillanes; and Lilly Rodriguez; and her beloved husband, Gilbert Romero. Susa is survived by her devoted sons, Bobby A. Romero and wife, Rose; and Gilbert M. Romero; her sister, Grace Alvarado and husband, Sonny; and many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and close friends. Susa will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Estefanye, Melody, Robert, Thomas and Sabrina. Many wonderful memories of Susa will be shared with her great grandchildren, Peyton, Estevan, Carlos Jr., Nevea and another great grandchild that is on the way. The family will also be forever grateful for the care and extra love, Susa's niece Lucy and husband, Rick gave to her through the years,Your kindness will always be remembered. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 8:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real, Socorro, followed by the Mass of Resurrection which will be celebrated at 9:00 am with Father Andrew Pavlak as Celebrant. Inurnment will take place in the Lemitar Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rick Griego and Anthony Baca.
