Sydney Earl Rodgers was born in Portland, Maine on June 3, 1944, and passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, in San Acacia, New Mexico at home with his loving wife by his side. Sydney was a true cowboy at heart and was known for his honesty and remarkable work ethic.

Sydney proudly served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, attending Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) school, and later safeguarding Presidents Ford and Nixon, while working for the Department of Homeland Security.

He was deeply passionate about his involvement with the NRA, his guns, and cherished riding his Harley Davidson.

Sydney is survived by his loving wife Sharon Rodgers of the family home, his sister Janet White, his daughters Laura Rogers and Cindy Bazala, his stepson Robert DeMarco, and his grandchildren Mason Bazala, Marcus Bazala, Jacob Bazala, Hayley Bazala, Lillian Rogers, Emma Rogers, step grandsons Joshua Streed, Joey DeMarco, and step granddaughter Maria DeMarco.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lois and Earl Rodgers and sister Susan King.

A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2025, at Daniel's Funeral Home, 309 Garfield St., Socorro, New Mexico from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Sydney's final resting place will be at The Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
