Telesforo "Valentin" Archuleta, 94, of Blanco, passed away peacefully at home on his family's homestead on Thurs., Aug. 20 2009. He was born Nov. 5, 1914 in Blanco, NM. Valentin was a survivor of the Bataan Death March and a prisoner of war of the Japanese Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Tonita Lobato Archuleta; and by children Erlinda Miller, Caroline Poore and husband Roger, and Doran Archuleta and his wife Patty; and his siblings, Maria "Floratina" Archuleta Lujan, "Meliton" Jasper Archuleta, "Henrietta" Rose Archuleta Hays, and Isador "Donald" Archuleta. Valentin is also survived by his grandchildren-Chason Caldwell, Christa Caldwell, Evan Glass, Elaine Gomez, Lisa Archuleta, and Jeffery Archuleta; and great-grandchildren Makahla Cummins, Adrian Gomez, Gabriella Gomez, Christianna Gomez, Judd Caldwell, and Albert Glass. Valentin was preceded in death by his parents, T.S. (Simon) and Josephine Jaques Archuleta, children Erlinda Andrea Archuleta, and Adrian Valentin Archuleta. Also preceding him in death were his siblings, Vincente "Salomon" Archuleta, "Pedro" Livorio Archuleta, "Rueben" Joseph Archuleta, "Onofre" (Archie) Jose Archuleta, "Filemon" Archuleta, Priscilla "Esther" Archuleta Gonzales, Maria Sedilla Josefina "Viola" Archuleta Springal. Pallbearers are Chason Caldwell, Jeff Archuleta, Jay Sarason, David Archuleta, Rueben Rodriguez, and Max Gonzales. Honorary Pallbearers are Onofre R. "Buster" Jaquez, and Claude Hatch.
