Teresa Benavides

Teresa (Terry) Benavides passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2019 after a brief illness at the age of 68.  She was born on November 27, 1950 in Silver City, New Mexico.

She is survived by two sons Shawn (Laura) and Ryan (Samantha); two granddaughters Kylie and Jamie Benavides and step-grandson Abran Chavez; sisters: Rita Ortiz (Gilbert), Christina Montoya (Michael) and Lorraine Montoya-Vigil (Tim); nieces Andrea Ortiz, Irene Sisneros, and Adrienne Battke; nephews: Christopher Montoya, Eric Vigil, Jonathan Benavides, Jacob and Joshua McGill; in-laws Keith and Vera Benavides, Janelle (Brian) McGill and Izelia Benavides. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Benavides and her parents Tom and Carmen Montoya.

Terry demonstrated her Christian faith by example. Her selflessness, kindness, generosity, and gentleness of spirit brought her much deserved love by those who knew her. She never hesitated to help anyone in need. She brought laughter and humor to many situations, sometimes unintentionally, which only added to everyone’s enjoyment.

Poignantly, Terry passed on the same day that Carl, her true love, passed 26 years before. It is comforting to those who love them that they are together again.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 29 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services on Carlisle Blvd.

A beautiful life that came to an end,
she died as she lived, everyone's friend.

of one we loved, and will never forget.
