Thelma L. Astifan, born Thelma Louise Barnes, October 31, 1926, in Biloxi, MS, surrounded by loved ones passed away  April 21, 2017.  Thelma was the 6th of 10 children that preceded her in death. She was married to Carl, May 3, 1945 who passed on October 10, 1987. After marriage, they lived in Watertown, NY until 1972, then moved to New Mexico. Thelma was always known for her warm spirit, wonderful cooking and love for her family. She could be found dancing the night away and will always be remembered for enjoying life to the fullest. She is survived by Sons; Richard and wife Priscilla, Webster, NY, William and wife Jeanne, Chadds Ford, PA, Carl and wife Julia, Centennial, CO. Daughter; Susan and husband David Whitten, Rio Rancho, NM, Grandchildren of 11, Great-Grandchildren of 17 (soon to be 18), and many Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 27 from 9-11am with a memorial service following at 11am at the Daniels Funeral Home, 4310 Sara Rd, Rio Rancho, NM. In lieu of flowers, a donation to The Center for Dementia Research (CDR) Https//cdr.rfmh.org or a similar research organization of your choosing would be appreciated.
