Thelma Etherly

ETHERLY - Thelma Etherly age 91, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011. Thelma was a former member of True Vine Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Thelma only attended primary school before becoming the care giver of her grandparents. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, listening to blues music, dancing, cooking, gardening, and fishing. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, George Etherly. Survivors include her three daughters, Ivie J. Smith, Marlene Acker, Michele White; son, Raymond Smith; three grandchildren; six great - grandchildren; four sisters, Teretha Clay of Kansas City, KS, Bernice Smith of Chicago, IL, Bessie Mae Firly of Las Vegas, NV and Bertha Bernett of Altama, AR; brother-in-law, Dan Etherly of Albuquerque, NM; nephew, Eugene Etherly of Los Angeles, CA; two nieces, Ella McClain of Oakland, CA and Bertha Bailey and husband, Jack of Albuquerque, NM and many other loving family members. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Daniels Family Funeral Services Palm Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Daniels Family Funeral Services Palm Chapel with Pastor Archie Richardson officiating.
