Thelma Lacy

Lacy, Thelma Thelma Lacy, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. She was born in Ebenezer, MS on January 30, 1925 to Lonnie and Esther Doyle. She was raised in Texas, attended Wayland Baptist College and graduated from Hardin Simmons University in 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howell Lacy, whom she met and married after moving to Albuquerque in 1947; her parents, and her brothers, Lonnie Doyle and Bob Doyle. She is survived by her five children Linda Lacy; Sharon Lacy (David Shoaf); Jim Lacy (Judy Lacy); Diane Lacy; Susan Lacy (Eddie Gutierrez); 6 grandchildren: Ben Newman (Wanda Clark), Brendan Lacy, Conor Lacy, Colin Lacy, Katie Gutierrez and Devin Gutierrez; one great grandchild, Xander Newman; her younger brother Don Doyle (Pat Doyle); sister�s-in-law Carolyn Doyle and Janelle Doyle, and numerous family and friends. She lived in several places, most recently 30 years in the Seattle area, before moving back to the Albuquerque area in 2008. Her many activities included Maj Jong and book club.
