Theresa Baca was called home Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in California to Sally Shoemaker on November 10, 1953. Theresa grew up in Polvadera, NM (Dusty Town) with her mom, grandparents and later her sister Stella came along. Mom always talked about her happy times growing up in Polvadera with her cousins and Dusty friends. Mom graduated from Socorro High School. She was employed with the Socorro Schools as a Special Education Teachers Aide for 23 years until her retirement. Theresa was blessed with two daughters and took great pride in providing for them. She later married David our dad. Theresa started a new chapter in life when her mother Sally passed away. She granted her mother's wishes and moved into her mother's home to care for her sister Stella. The sister duo kept each other going and their love was unconditional. Theresa loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed taking them on vacations. She cherished the special times she had with her friends and loved having family gatherings which brought so much happiness to her. Theresa will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Shoemaker; and granddaughter, Estrella Chavez. Theresa leaves behind her devoted daughters, Delicia Chavez and husband James, the son in law she always bragged about; Sheila Sedillo, who lived with mom and helped care for her; her grandchildren, Danielle Sedillo (Arthur), Jayden Chavez, Alexianna Chavez (Evylynn), Ryan  Lopez Jr., and Joshua Lopez; her great grandchildren, Javahn Garcia, Nevaeh Garcia and Jordan Valenzuela; and her sister, Stella Shoemaker. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 3 ,2017 from 5 - 8pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 309 Garfield, Socorro, NM. The Holy Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:30 am at San Miguel Catholic Church,403 El Camino Real, Socorro, NM with Mass of Resurrection to follow at 11:00am.  Celebrant Father Chike Ubah.  Burial will take place at Polvadera Cemetery  following service. Pallbearers will be Ryan  Lopez Jr., Joshua Lopez, Alexianna Chavez and Danielle Sedillo.  Honorary pallbearers are Jayden Chavez, Javahn Garcia, Nevaeh Garcia and Jordan Valenzuela.
