Theresa M. Montoya

Montoya, Theresa M. Our beloved mother started her Heavenly journey on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She was born in Questa, NM on January 19, 1925 to Felipe N. and Fidelia C. Medina. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Esequiel Kelly Montoya, in May of 2009; brother, Frank Medina; sister, Benita M. Wilson. She is survived by her five children, Betty Ann Ryan and husband Ned, Jerry Montoya and wife June, Stephen Montoya and wife Linda, Paul Montoya and wife Janet, Gene Montoya and wife Maria; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, Evangeline Rael and husband Ben, Felipe Medina and wife Anita, Lorraine Cook and husband Richard, Manuel Medina, Felix Medina and wife Berda, Glorianna Schneckloth and husband Gary, Pat Rael and husband Rueben, and Carol Williams. In her early years she was a resident of Denver where she attended Barnes Business College, after which she returned to New Mexico to marry Kelly and raise their family. She was a resident of Albuquerque and Corrales area for over 60 years and was active in her children�s endeavors as well as various roles in the Catholic parishes of which she was a member. She was a volunteer at UNMH for many years. Among her many talents was her skill with pies and cookies. She was an endearing wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am with the recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 am, following will be the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, Monday, October 28, 2013, San Ysidro Catholic Church, 5015 Corrales Road, Corrales, NM. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park 4310 Sara Rd. SE Rio Rancho, NM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer�s Association at www.alz.org.
