Theresa D. Ponce

Ponce, Theresa D. Age 58, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2013. She was born on October 19, 1954 to Pete and Petra (Avila) Valtierra in Los Angeles, CA. She loved and was "Super-Kind" to animals which led to her job as a supervisor at an animal shelter. Her family meant everything to her and in her spare time she enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, crocheting and collecting teapots. She was very hospitable and enjoyed cooking for everyone. Everyone was family to her! Mrs. Ponce was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Madeline Valtierra. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Arturo V. Ponce, Sr. of Rio Rancho, NM; children, Arturo Ponce, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Steven Ponce and wife, Deborah, of Rio Rancho, NM, Denise Ponce-Alvarez and husband, Michael, of Montebello, CA, Yvette Ponce and husband, Robert Jimenez, of Rio Rancho, NM, Pete Ponce of Bernalillo, NM, and Robert Ruiz, Jr., of Rio Rancho, NM; 18 grandchildren; one brother and two sisters; and many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 1500 Southern Blvd SE, Rio Rancho.
