Theresa Silecchio

Silecchio, Theresa Age 90, a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, NM, passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, April 14, 2013. She was born on February 28, 1923 to Salvatore and Frances (Piccolo) Umana in Chicago, IL and moved to Brooklyn, NY at the age of two. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend who loved shopping, dining at restaurants, and spending time with her family and friends. She lovingly volunteered at St. Joseph's Westside Hospital along with her best friend, Maria DeLeo, from 2001-2003. Her sense of humor is legendary and will be greatly missed. She, also loved living at The Fairwinds and enjoyed the friends she made, as well as the gracious staff and the amenities that The Fairwinds has to offer. Mrs. Silecchio was preceded in death by her husband, Peter M. Silecchio, in 2001. She is survived by her three children, Donald A. Silecchio (Regina) of Simi Valley, CA, Marietta Ridsdale (Joe) of Rio Rancho, NM, and Fran Capone (Joe), of Rio Rancho, NM; 10 grandchildren, Peter Silecchio (Dana), Anthony Silecchio (Valerie), Donald A. Silecchio, Jr. (Danielle), Joseph Ridsdale (Star), Peter Ridsdale (Renee), Jennifer Messina (Chris), Carmine Capone (Annette), Fran Burke (John), Joseph Capone, III. (Tami), and Terri Compton (Craig); 31 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; loving brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Grace Lutrario and family of Staten Island, NY; and numerous family and friends who mourn her passing. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 17, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho.
