Therese Zerwas passed away peacefully on April 19th, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM.
Therese, a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister, was very active with the Catholic church in many
roles. She contributed much time and talent as an organist for St. Mary’s church in Albuquerque and St.
Teresa of Avila in Grants N.M. She was very involved with religious instructions, rights of the unborn,
music coordination, and altar service. Professionally, Therese started the Grants Land Title Company and
supported the Dave Zerwas Real Estate business in many capacities.
Therese was preceded in death by parents Marie and Jean Carrica, who along with other Basques,
emigrated from France, brother Pierre Carrica (Frances of Grants, NM) and Sister Sr. Annette Carrica.
Survived by husband Dave Zerwas of Rio Rancho, children Lex Zerwas of Phoenix, AZ (Kim), Judy Gosselin of Dallas, TX, Fr. Rick Zerwas of Albuquerque, and Chris Zerwas of Shrewsbery, MA (Jennifer). Brothers Jean Carrica of Omaha, NE (Peggy deceased) and JB Carrica of Hobbs NM (Lori, deceased); 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Therese and Dave were married for 68 years and enjoyed family life in Grants, Los Alamos, and
Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Rosary services will be May 1, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at Daniels Southern Chapel located at 2400 Southern Blvd., Rio Rancho. Funeral mass will be May 2, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Church of the Incarnation located at 2309 Monterrey Rd. NE, Rio Rancho, NM.
