Thomas E. Grimm

August 18, 1952 — July 11, 2019

On Thursday, July 11, 2019, Thomas (Tom) Edward Grimm, husband, father, son, and brother, passed away at the age of 66 years old. He was predeceased by his father William, and will be forever remembered by his wife Pam, and their children, Brent (Allie), Erika (Tony), and Kyle (Rachel), by his mother Phyllis, by his brothers and sisters, Kathy (Bob), Bill, Phil (Anita), Julie (Paul), Mary, Marti (Greg), Angie (Vince), Genny (Karl), and David (Elaine), and his grandchildren, Aubrey, Penelope, Evie, and Mila. He will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Tom was born on August 18, 1952 to William A. Grimm and Phyllis M. Grimm in Wilmington, Ohio. After graduating from Licking Heights High School in 1970, he was drafted into the army and was honorably discharged in 1973. He was successful in everything he did, working his way up to become Vice President of Operations in the insurance industry. He retired in 2011 to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he enjoyed discovering the southwest, watching the Buckeyes, and spoiling his dog, Buck.

In 1976, he met Pam, and they wed in 1977, going on to have three children. They were an admirable team who complimented each other. They respected each other’s opinions, shared values, and differences, and always came together in the best interests of their children. They loved to travel to new places and laugh together no matter where they were.
His children remember him as everything they could’ve asked for in a father. He was there for all the great moments in their lives, and all the tough ones. He was their best friend. They know their families are who they are because of his sacrifices and selfless love. From the endless soccer tournaments through the countless stupid things they got themselves into, he was always there without hesitation.

The best part of these last few years has been watching him become a grandfather. Every time he was with any of his many granddaughters he was absolutely beaming. They will all ensure that his legacy and endless supply of dad jokes live on.

Tom was known for his compassionate ability to work through anyone’s problem, always fixing anything that arose. Tom had a sense of humor that could put a smile on anyone’s face, even in the toughest situations. He was an empathetic individual who loved spending time with his family.

The Memorial Service for Tom will be on July 21st at 1:00 PM. Guests are asked to start arriving around 12:30.  The Memorial Service will be held at: New Song, 13873 National Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068. Pastor Ashley McGlone will speak.
