KLINGENHAGEN, Thomas “Tom” G., age 71, of Tijeras, NM, our loving Father, Grandfather and Brother passed away on May 16, 2018, due to an extended illness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Webb and Ann Klingenhagen.
He is survived by his two daughters, Terese Montoya and husband Ronald of Las Vegas, NM and Nicole Gallegos and husband Ron of Santa Fe, NM; his grandchildren, Miranda and Javier Montoya and Dylan and McKenzie Gallegos; his two sisters, Susie Russelle of Albuquerque, NM and Sheree Klingenhagen of Payette, ID; two nephews, Chris Griffith and wife Tisha and daughters Makayla and Anna of Payette, ID and Brandon Griffith and wife Samantha and daughter Laurel of Gardnerville, NV.
Tom was born in Belleville, IL on November 10, 1946. His family moved to Culver City, CA in 1956. Growing up he enjoyed football, riding his bike, collecting baseball cards, playing the drums and listening to Rock-n-Roll music and the Blues. He loved his mom’s home cooked meals and treats. He graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1964. He was drafted by the Army and served from 1966 to 1968 as a Private E-1 in Bamberg, Germany. He obtained his Professional Surveyor’s License in 1975 and worked in Las Vegas, NM and later moved to Albuquerque, NM where he was employed at Bohannan and Huston, Inc. for 21 years.
Tom was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. His favorite album was Live Wire Blues Power by Albert King. He participated in many Relay for Life Cancer Walks, Breast Cancer Walks, the annual Duke City Marathons, and he was the proud NM BioPark Zoo Parent of the Northern Cardinal. He was an active member of the Hawthorne High School alumni website, Cougartown.com.
Above all, Tom was a loving and caring father and grandpa and will be greatly missed. Your spirit is finally free. Go fly with the Cardinals, Dad! We love you!
