THOMAS E. MARTINEZ- 87 MARCH 7, 1928- FEBRUARY 11, 2016 Thomas died peacefully in Albuquerque on February 11, due to complications from pneumonia. He is preceded in death by his parents Santos and Celina Martinez and his loving wife Gloria A. Martinez. Those left behind to cherish his memories are his children, Yvonne Martinez, Lynette Martinez, Rene Gately, Thomas Martinez Jr., Dion Martinez, and Gerard Martinez. Grandchildren Tara Fauteck (Alana), Garrett Fauteck (Lindsey), Erin Gonzales (Mathew), John Gately (Amanda), Ryan Gately, Nicholaus Martinez, Jonathan Martinez, Crystal Martinez, and Eliseo Martinez and 11 great-grandchildren. Thomas was in the US Marine Corp During WWII. He was born in La Mesilla, NM, and spent most of his life in Santa Fe and was a part-time resident of Tierra Amarilla, NM. He operated his own electrical and contracting business in Santa Fe for many years under the name Tommy's Electric. Thomas was retired from the IBEW Local 611. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge 460 in Santa Fe. Thomas will be remembered for his love of family. He loved the outdoors which included fishing, hunting and boating. He will be dearly missed. Pallbearers are: Garrett Fauteck, John Gately, Ryan Gately, Eliseo Martinez, Mathew Gonzales, and Jonathan Martinez. Honorary Pallbearer Nicholaus Martinez. Funeral services are as follows: Rosary will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 18, 2016 and the mass will be at 10:30 am on Friday February 19, 2016. Both will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 126 S. McCurdy Rd. Espanola, NM. Internment will follow at 12:45 at the National Cemetary, Santa Fe.
