Thomas J. Stefan

STEFAN -- Thomas J. Stefan, 76, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008. A resident of Albuquerque since 1968. Tom was born in Cleveland, OH on August 26, 1932, met his sweetheart Helen at Our Lady of Lourdes High School, and they were married on April 24, 1954. Tom joined the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Captain as a navigator / bombardier. After getting his degree from the University of Albuquerque, Tom became the business manager at St Pius X High School in 1976 where he worked for 18 years. Always devout Catholics, Tom and Helen were very involved in the church with roles including stewardship speakers (over 35 yrs), Eucharistic minister, Serra member (promotion of vocations), and a member of the Queen of Heaven finance committee. Tom is survived by his loving and devoted wife Helen, his two sisters Marlene and Sharon Rose, and twelve children (Mary Ellen, Loretta, Debora, Thomas, Joanne, Brian, Michael, Gregory, George, Richard, James, and Joseph) and 14 grandchildren.
