O'Neal-Dawson, Thomas Edward Age, 87, passed away, July 10, 2013 in Albuquerque, NM. Born May 25, 1926 at St John�s Hospital, Cleveland, OH to Orlando S. O�Neal and Constance White. After the death of his parents, he was adopted by his mother�s sister, Grace Lilian White and her husband, Lee Fletcher Dawson. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Shirley Ramsay; 9 children, Bob Dawson ( Sherri), Connie Houser (Harry, deceased), Michael Dawson, Connie Parsons (Tom), Paula Teel (Gary), Patti Penrod (Jim), Geri Padilla (Donnie), Renee Fair (Mike); 13 grandchildren; 12 � great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, half-brother, Carlisle O'Neal and his son Jim Dawson. Tom was a naval aviator during World War II, he graduated from Marietta College, in Ohio, June 4, 1950 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was an engineer with B.F. Goodrich and Jordan Paving in Dallas, TX, supervising numerous construction projects across the country. He owned and managed Dawson Lanes Bowling Center in Marietta. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks, Delta Epsilon Fraternity and recently became a considered member of the Quiet Birdmen. He was a talented sportsman, excelling at skiing, skating, billiards, and golf, and won local acclaim as a fast-pitch softball pitcher in the late 1950s, including a match up against the "The King and His Court", a professional team featuring the Great Eddie Feigner. Following his "retirement" he was constantly involved in a number of personal construction projects, always seeking to improve his home, neighborhood, and community. He was an avid reader of WWII historical novels, and a great fan of the "Snoopy" character. A loving husband, father, grand-father and friend with an ever ready smile for everyone, especially for his wife. He was very deep in his faith, which played a major part in his life. He was deeply loved by many, and will be greatly missed! A special �Thanks� to Ceasar & Ammabell Arcangel for the wonderful friendship and blessings during Tom�s illness and presently; the Pilots of the Quiet Birdmen for the gratitude and joy they brought to Tom at their meetings and home visits; the Knights of Columbus; Herman with the Christian Motorcycle Association, and his fellow CMA members; to the Hospice staff of Reverend Patric, Heather, Anna, Jessica, Rita, Carol and especially Lou Ann; VA Dr's Baker (Phoenix) and Parker (Albuquerque) and their home care staff; and most importantly Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who blessed us with some pretty special children!!! A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 am, with the Memorial Mass following at 9:00 am, Friday, July 19, 2013 at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church, 5901 St. Joseph Drive NW, Albuquerque, NM. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, July 19, 2013 at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:00 pm, at the home of his daughter, Geri.
