75, left his earthly life and was called home to his eternal life on Monday, May 18, 2015. Having fought the good fight, and finished his race, Tom has kept his faith and is now at peace in God's loving care.  He was born in Plainview,TX on March 3, 1940 to Leroy and Leilyah Lavene (Mills) Vaughn. Thomas was a  resident of the Socorro area since 1989. He proudly served in the United States Army from May of 1957 until his retirement as SFC in December of 1976. Thomas later worked for the Stallion Missile Range. He enjoyed reading and spending time in his garden. He was especially fond of growing tomatoes.Tom baked the best sour dough bread and he loved his cats. Above all, Thomas was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. His love for his family was a "forever love". Grandpa was especially proud of his grandsons, Zachary and Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Aileen Mason.Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Ann (Berglund)Vaughn; his children, Gregory A. Vaughn; and Kathleen C. Dàvila and husband, Pedro; his grandsons; his brother, Donald E. Vaughn and wife, Mary; and many nieces, a nephew, other loving family members and close friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Epiphany Episcopal Church, 908 Leroy Place, Socorro, with Pastor Robert Mueller officiating. Interment will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:15pm in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers are Greg Vaughn, Pedro Dàvila, Zachary Dàvila, Christian Dàvila, Dick Ritter, Don Vaughn and Russell Berglund.
