Tina Marie Saunders

Tina Marie Saunders, age 68, passed away on June 24, 2024. She grew up in Charleston, SC with her 2 sisters and 1 brother. She married Michael Saunders in 1981, and raised their family in Albuquerque, NM. They were married for 43 years. 

Tina was loved everywhere she went. She made long lasting friends and kept them her entire life. She was known for her cooking and feeding everyone she possibly could. It made her happy that she could make her best dishes for anyone that would visit. She could cook anything! 

She adored her grandchildren Anson and Masie Miakos. They were her world and saw them every day and helped raise them. They put a smile on her face, and she cherished every moment. 

Her children Shannon Miakos, Shelby Saunders and Brandon Saunders will deeply miss her. She homeschooled all 3 for many years and helped enhance their education. Being with them every day was for important to her. She was a soccer mom and was with them every practice and game, usually yelling on the sidelines. 

Tina loved gardening, was an arts and crafts teacher, and loved lunch dates with her friends. She loved nature, especially Jemez, NM, where she would take her family often. She was happy when she was outside in the wilderness. 

She found a passion to be a hairstylist. She was well known and had many clients, which turned into her close friends. She always brought friends together and was charismatic, bringing positive and fun energy all around. 

We will have a small celebration with immediate family on her birthday this year in Jemez, NM.
