Tony R. Padilla

Tony R. Padilla, age 82, passed away on Saturday February 11, 2017.  He was born in Cerrillos, New Mexico on July 31, 1934 to Cipriano Padilla and Lupita Ortiz Padilla.

Tony was raised along with his seven brothers and four sisters in Cerrillos, NM and they moved to Bernalillo in 1953. He joined the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He moved to Albuquerque in 1958 and remained there until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cipriano and Lupita Padilla; wife, Frances M. Padilla; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Padilla; brothers, Cicilio and Pete Padilla Sr.; sister-in-law Melba Padilla; brother-in-law, Henry Pacheco Sr.; nephews, Patrick Padilla, Dennis Padilla, and Danny Pacheco.

He is survived by his four loving children: daughters, Debbie Padilla and best friend Mary Tafoya; Christina Tapia and husband Joe Jr.; sons, Johnny Padilla and wife Michelle and Ronnie Padilla and wife Ann; grandchildren: Martina Stephens and husband Sam; John Paul Padilla and wife Tamara; Joseph Tapia; Cameron Tapia; Jordan Padilla and fiancé Samantha Trujillo; Dalton Padilla; Hope Trout; Tomas Giron, and Samantha Griego; great-grandchildren, Eva Stephens, Alana and Mason Padilla, and Ayla Giron.

A Rosary will be recited at Queen of Heaven in Albuquerque on Tuesday February 21, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass being held at 11:00 a.m. Reception will be held following the mass at the Daniels Family Funeral Services located at 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE at 12:00 p.m.  The Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.

A special thanks to all the medical staff at Presbyterian hospital and Kaseman Hospice for being there for our family at this time of need and for all the family and friends that have come to comfort us.

Tony was a wonderful husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He will always be loved and missed by all.
