Tressa Eileen Mabry

Tressa Eileen Mabry was born October 23, 1927 to Fred and Cora Kimble in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a graduate of Westport High School in Kansas City and in 1948 became the first woman to graduate from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. On October 30, 1948 Tressa married George Rolland Mabry of Carthage, Illinois. The couple lived in Kansas City where their first two children Cynthia Diane and Robert Dean were born. They soon after moved to Southern California where their third child Richard Neal was born. They had been married 63 years when George passed away in 2011. Tressa was a home maker, master quilter and entrepreneur, creating cloth doll patterns and selling then around the world by mail order. She was an accomplished pianist and organist for her church at the age of 10. Tressa went to be with her Lord August 15, 2019. She is survived by her three children Cynthia Corderman (David), Robert Mabry (Kat) and Richard Mabry (Beverly) six grandchildren Michael Corderman, Amy Mustafa, Jeff Corderman (Shawna), Jessie Tientcheu (Stephane), Melissa Dunn (Jeremy) and Angella Meeks. Twelve great grandchildren: Ryan Corderman, Haley Mustafa, Jackson Corderman, Jordan Pendleton (Josh), Justin Clark (Jasmine), Dalton Meeks, Julien Tientcheu, Addie Tientcheu, Leona Tientcheu, Olivia Dunn, Emma Dunn, Alyssa Dunn and two great great grandchildren Jax and Juniper Clark. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday August 23, 2019 at Daniels Family Mortuary 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Tressa will be interred at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE, immediately following the celebration of her life.
