Winder, Twila Belle

88, passed away on Thursday, October 10th, 2019. She was born Twila B. Stuhr on July 14, 1931 in Waco, Nebraska, and moved as a young child to Riverton, Wyoming, where her parents homesteaded and built a log cabin. After graduating from Morton High School, she attended the University of Wyoming for 2 years, and worked as a secretary in Casper, Wyoming for several years, where she met her future husband, John H. Winder. 

They were married in 1957, and moved to Alexandria, Virginia when John was drafted into the army, and Twila worked in the Pentagon. After his tour of duty, they had 3 children, and lived in several states in the Midwest and mountain west, before settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1972. 

Twila had several hobbies, including pottery making, organ playing, and reading, and she attended several churches in Albuquerque, including Faith Lutheran, Hoffmantown Baptist, and Eastern Hills Baptist. 

Survivors include her 3 children, John W. Winder, of West New York, New Jersey, Joel Winder, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Deborah Winder, of Albuquerque; sister Ardyce Tobin and husband Jerry, of Beaverton, Oregon; grandchildren Jonathan and Cory Winder; and 4 great grandchildren. 

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Daniels Funeral Services- Wyoming Chapel in Albuquerque.
