Bessom, Valerie Ann
Age 58,went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 6, 2016. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on May 10, 1958, to Russell R. and Virginia Lee (Smith) Bessom. Valerie was a graduate of Cibola H.S. where she was a varsity cheerleader. She went on to modeling and fashion school, and did some local modeling. After that she moved to Lake Tahoe to work for Harrahs Hotels with her brothers and lifelong friend, Tom Patterson. Then she went to work at JC Penney where she made many friends and around the holidays she would work at the family's Bessom Garden's with her mother, grandmother and sister. Valerie loved traveling and meeting new people, she never met a person she didn't enjoy visiting with. Valerie was a member of the 1st Baptist Church and shared her faith with everyone. She was always busy with charitable activities throughout her life, she provided bibles to many. Valerie loved her family and friends, she was a kind a gentle person who was always positive and never spoke ill of anyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, Laura Smith and her younger brother, Randolph Bessom. Valerie is survived by brothers, Cliff Bessom and Tracy of Corrales, NM, Steven Bessom and wife Katie of Corrales, NM; sisters, Laura Vigil and husband Russell of Corrales, NM, Melody Hooker and husband Bryan of Alexandria, VA; nieces and nephews. Stephanie Mascarenas and husband Nikko, Virginia Aguilar and husband Cody, Monica Lesku and husband Steve, James Vigil and wife Tsenre, Brooke Enbieh and  husband Krancle, Tommy Hooker and Arriana Hooker; great nieces and nephew, Laura, Lilly, Everly, Olivia and Benjamin. We will always miss our loving sister, Valerie Ann.
