Valerie Leigh Stevenson

Valerie Leigh Stevenson, 59, of Albuquerque, New Mexico went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 29, 2019. She was born on February 13, 1960 in Charleston, South Carolina to Charles Wesley and Rosalie (Mackey) Stevenson.

Val is survived by her mother, Rosalie Stevenson of Albuquerque, NM; siblings, Charles Wesley Stevenson of Albuquerque, NM, Gardenia Lorraine Stevenson of Albuquerque, NM, Darius Ward Stevenson (Valeratea) of Summerville, SC, and Terry Glen Stevenson; nieces and nephews, Tamara, Camille, Darius (Kathy), Bryan, Janelle, Sidney (Karen), Marcus, and Tarsha (Leon); great-nieces and great-nephews, Audrianna, Genessee, Sololmon, Lyric, Helene, Kimora, Kiara, Karmello, Aubriana, Angelina, Trinity, Adam Jr., Oshe, Zoey, Keyeria, Dylan, Davion, Jayden, Alanna, and Leon Jr.; and significant other, Greg Crittenden. She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Wesley Stevenson.

Val attended UNM, Brooks College of Fashion Design and Phoenix College, where she finished her degree. After college, Val worked for Phillips, Intel, Coldwell Banker Legacy as a realtor, and most recently Clarion as a Quality Control Supervisor. She was a member of Grant Chapel AME Church. Val was passionate about gardening. If you knew her, you loved her and she will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., and Funeral Service will follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. in Grant Chapel AME Church, 7920 Claremont Ave NE.  Graveside Service will take place in Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, following funeral service.
