Vella Mae Brewer

The family of Vella Mae Brewer (known as Mae) of Albuquerque, New Mexico is saddened to announce her passing on April 3, 2025 at the age of 90 years. She passed away peacefully after struggling with heart failure for several years.

Mae will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Tracey Ormsbee, son Tony Brewer, granddaughters Kaitlin Dalton and Haley Ormsbee, and by numerous other family members and friends.

Mae was predeceased by her parents, William and Ila Mae, husband of 46 years, Cletus, and brothers, James and Wayne. She also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, cousins, wonderful neighbors and lifelong friends.

Mae was the heart of her family – an amazing mother, grandmother, and friend whose love was strong and unconditional. She poured her heart into everything she did from the meals she prepared to the moments she never missed. Whether it was a birthday, soccer game, track meet, or family gathering, Mae was always there. Her gentle strength and kindness touched all who knew her.

Mae leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and grace that will continue to live on in those who were blessed to know her.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Albuquerque. All are welcome to join in honoring her life.
