Velva Trujillo Gonzales passed away on January 22, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, She was born November 24, 1941, in Taos, New Mexico.
She was proceeded in death by her parents: Amarante O. Trujillo and Augustina “Tina” Trujillo; her husband: Maurice Gonzales Sr., son: Maurice Gonzales II; brothers: Gregorio Daniel Trujillo and Alonso Trujillo; Nephews: Marcos Trujillo and Ronald Salazar and her Brother-In-Law Thomas Salazar.
Velva T. Gonzales is survived by her son Edward Gonzales; her grandchildren: Priscilla Gonzales and Aaron Roybal; great grandchildren: Briella Gonzales and Christian Maes; sisters: Virginia Salazar, Elaine Trujillo (Antonio), and Michele Trujillo (Linda). Brothers: Ernest Trujillo, Herman Trujillo, and Johnnie Trujillo. Velva is also survived by her many friends, family and colleagues.
Velva grew up in Taos, New Mexico and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the 60s where she became a homemaker raising her two sons.
She then decided to go back to school completing secretary administrative courses and landed a job with NNSA DOE branch of the United States Government, where she went to achieve 25 years of service after which she retired.
She spent most of her time raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren up until her untimely death due to dementia.
