Vera S. Gutierrez

Loving sister, aunt and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the age of 100. She was born on March 11, 1912 in the Barelas area and was a lifelong resident of Old Town and also a member of the San Felipe de Neri Church. Vera loved her family and those who were close to her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Gutierrez. Vera is survived by her brother, Raymond Sandoval and wife Agnes; sisters, Vina Sesma, Lenora Roman who helped her during her last days. Special nieces and nephews who lovingly took care of her through out her long life, Gloria Perrine and husband John, Theresa Gutierrez, Mary Lou Duran and husband Gilbert, Kathy Torres, Laurianna Sargent, Benedict Roman, David Sesma, Jay Rodriguez, T.J. Perrine and wife Sharon, Alex Gutierrez, Wilfred Gutierrez, Benny Hernandez, many more nieces; nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. Special thanks to her care givers, Isabel Sanchez, Ricarda Archibeque, and Nancy Smith. A Visitation will take place at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 North Plaza SW, Tuesday September 25, 2012 from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a reciting of the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will also take place at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, Wednesday September 26, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers are Benedict Roman, T. J. Perrine, Laurianna Sargent, David Sesma Jr., John Perrine and Gilbert Duran. Vera will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Garcia Mortuary
