Veva Ruth Huffman

Huffman, Veva Ruth Age 79, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012. She was born in Loving, NM on July 18, 1932, to and Harvey and Ida (Cole) Runyan . Ruth was raised in Hatch, NM and graduated from Hatch High School. She married Walter Huffman in 1953 and moved to Lemitar, NM in 1954 where they made their home and raised their family. Ruth enjoyed gardening, reading, history and visiting with family and friends. She was a terrific mother and welcomed each grandbaby and great grandbaby with all her love. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Walter Huffman; brothers, Leroy and Bill Runyan; sisters Violet Ellis and Erbie Williams. Ruth is survived by her son, Lester Huffman of Algadones, NM; daughters: Dana Gum and husband, Jerry of San Acacia, NM; Nelda Finch and husband, Arvil of Lemitar, NM; Laura Riley and husband, Robert Vallejos of Las Cruces, NM; and Grace Young and husband, Steve of Lemitar, NM; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Memorial Services were held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:30 am at the Church of Christ in Socorro, NM with Johnny Moore officiating.
