Vicente Contreras Garcia

On this day, July 22, 2019, the Lord Our God called our beloved daddy, Vicente C. Garcia home, at the age of 93.  He started life on March 23, 1926, the son of Lugarita and Pasqual Garcia.  

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Manuelita (Nellie) Garcia; his two children, Harriet (Butchie) Brandt and  Benjamin D. Brandt.

He is survived by Yvonne D. Chavez, Michael O. Garcia, Matilda M. and William V. Garcia, and his many grand, great and great-great grandchildren.

Vicente proudly protected our freedom in World War II, as a private first class in the 23rd Infantry Regiment, and was then Honorably Discharged.  Daddy was a proud member of the 40/8 for which he drove the locomotive and tender for this charitable organization.  He found solace for those who were in need and it brought him great joy.  But what he enjoyed best was taking care of his children and grandchildren and watching them play.  These memories will be cherished in the lives he touched and our hearts forever.  

Visitation and viewing will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Daniels Family Funeral Services~Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.

Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Daniels Family Funeral Services~Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.  Interment immediately following at Vista Verde Memorial, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
