Victoria P. Espinosa
Jan. 15, 1939 - July 14, 2011 Victoria P. Espinosa, 72, of Farmington, died on Thursday, July 14, 2011, in Arvada, Colo. She was born Jan. 15, 1939, in Gallup, to Lazaro Ponce Ben Baca and Margurite Baca.
Victoria moved to Farmington in 1967. She was employed, with her husband, at Sprouse-Reitz. She also worked at the Motor Vehicle Department, Flanery Volkswagen and Wal-Mart.
She had 50 years of service with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a past president of District 15 council women, department president, Auxiliary M.O.C.A. Grand and M.O.C.A Auxiliary president, and a member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary.
She enjoyed reading. She loved her grandchildren and was overjoyed that she got to see her great-grandchildren and spend time with them.
She was a devoted Catholic.
Everyone who knew Victoria knew she had a heart of gold.
Married 55 years, she and her husband, Alex, celebrated their 50th golden wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband, Alex Espinosa; sons, Francisco (Kerri) Espinosa, Lorenzo (Wilphine) Espinosa and Greg (Rose) Espinosa; daughter, Alexis (Bobby) Lucero; brothers, Tom (Ester) Baca, Ben Baca and Lazaro Ponce Jr.; sisters, Lupita Gonzales, Vivian Fonseca and Christine Ponce; six grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today, July 21, at St. Mary's Parish, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington, followed at 7 p.m. by the rosary in the same location.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Farmington. Father Michael Vigil will be the celebrant.
Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
