Vinetta Josephine Brazil

April 24, 1939 to February 22, 2021

Vinetta “Vinnie” Brazil passed away on February 22, 2021, at the age of 81, after a brief illness.  She was surrounded by family until the end.

Vinnie was born in North Adams, Massachusetts, to Vincent and Dorothy Albrycht.  She is survived by her four children:  Michael Schraeder (Roseann) of Albuquerque, NM; Chris Minter (Lisa) of Lenexa, KS; Thomas Brazil (Robin) of Albuquerque, NM; and AnnMarie Harp (Marc) of Peralta, NM.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren:  Joshua Schraeder, Justine Griffin (Thomas), Dustin Schraeder, Tyler Brazil, Cason Brazil, Chris Schraeder (Adrianna), Kahn Minter, and Kaia Minter; great-grandchildren:  Alice Brazil, Amelia Brazil, AJ Griffin, and Rylee Griffin. 

Additionally, she is survived by brothers Vince Albrycht (Mary), Herb Albrycht, sister Rose Gotzens (Jack), and brother-in-law Eddy Duquette.  She is preceded in death by her siblings Raymond O'Dell, Leona Alcombright, and Sylvia Duquette.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Vinnie grew up in North Adams, Massachusetts, and left in 1957 to serve in the US Air Force.  She was stationed in Biloxi, MS, where she served for 3 years.  After discharge from the Air Force, she moved with her brother to New Mexico and made Albuquerque her home.  Throughout the years, she's also lived in California, Texas, and Alaska.  Vinnie worked hard her entire life and retired from BF Goodrich Aerospace in 2004. 

She was so proud of all of her children, and she loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was proudly independent and always had a mind of her own.  She lived on her own with her dog Tuggy, who she adored.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 15th, 2021 at 12:00pm noon

at Albuquerque Garden Center Los Altos Park
