Viola Chavez

Chavez, Viola Loving wife, mother, sister, aunt passed away, September 5, 2012, after a brief illness. Viola was one of twelve children born to Edward and Luz Hovey. She attended St. Mary's School and graduated from AHS. She married David Lee Chavez and they had one daughter, Valerie. Viola had a long career with APS working in the cafeteria at Washington Middle School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Luz Hovey; sisters Rosabell, Isabell, Nancy, Norma, Marlene; brothers, Harold, Ronald, and Edward Jr. and several nephews and nieces. Viola is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, David Lee Chavez; loving daughter, Valerie Holton and her husband Russell; brothers, Oliver and Anthony; sister, Judy; numerous nieces and nephews to whom she was a matriarch. Her passing brings deep sorrow to every life she touched. A Visitation will take place at Garcia Mortuary in the Chapel of Angels, Friday, September 7, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm followed by a reciting of the Rosary led by Deacon Don. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave NW, Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Viola will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Garcia Mortuary
