Virgil P. Gonzales

Virgil P. Gonzales passed away November 13,2009 in Farmington at San Juan Regional Medical Center. Virgil was born in Bloomfield on February 26, 1936 to Jose Inez Gonzales and Rosa Anna Gonzales. He was preceded in death by three children, Irene Gonzales, Jimmy Gonzales, Virgil Gonzales Jr., both parents including two brothers Felix Gonzales of Aztec, Steve Gonzales of Bloomfield and a grandchild Monica V. Gonzales. Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Celia Gonzales of Bloomfield; and 6 children Gloria Welch of Farmington, Mr. and Mrs. Luis Gonzales of Bloomfield, Mary Brooks of Aztec, Joe Gonzales of Durango,TX, Denise Martinez and husband Presiliano of Mesa, AZ and Darlene Jones and husband Harold of Bloomfield; sisters Lydia Babos of Spencerville, Louise Reis of Modesto, CA and Frances Nickerson of Evertte,WA. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Virgil's hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He also enjoyed visiting with his family, his farm animals and listening to country and ranchero music. Special friend of Virgil's for many years was his dog "Puddles".
